History
Powdered tea has been whisked in Japan for centuries. We did not invent that. We pack it carefully in the Netherlands and show you how to make a bowl at home.

Matcha bushes are covered before harvest so the leaf stays bright and sweet. The powder should smell green, not dusty. We only sell what we actually have in stock.
A bowl is not a beverage. It is a few minutes with nothing else in the hands.

Sift. Water. Whisk.

Sift
About a teaspoon of powder through a small sieve, so the cup is smooth.

Water
A small cup of hot water — not boiling. Boiling water makes matcha bitter; just-off-the-boil (around 80°C) keeps it sweet.

Whisk
Use a bamboo whisk. Move quickly in a W until the top is bright green and lightly foamy.
